Orande Mensink is a Dutch photographer who lives in the United Kingdom.
After a career as a lawyer, juridical adviser in a hospital and a management job in a network organization, she moved with her family to the UK. Here she took up photography and then started to study. Photography has become her tool for getting on in the world.
"Realizing more and more how little we can hold in our minds photographs become the memory of what has passed. Documentary photography is my tool to tell a story, to let go and at the same time hold on."
In June 2015 Orande was awarded: Master of Fine Arts Photography Distinction by the Academic Board of the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) at Farnham and she was an artist in residence at this university (2015-2016).
